Abstract
Sensitization of gram-negative microorganisms to the inhibitors Tergitol-7 and tyrothricin by protamine and histone brought out the fact that these sensitizers also possess antibacterial properties. Protamine was found effec- tive for Eberthella typhosa, Shigella paradysenteriae, Escherichia coli and Neisseria catarrhalis in varying degrees at pH 8.1. Histone was equally active at an acid pH.This publication has 10 references indexed in Scilit:
