Abstract
In this paper, a part-feature recognition system for the conversion of a CAD language to a CAM language is developed. The parts of interest are rotational without deviation. The recognized part information is posted into a part-definition data structure, which many manufacturing functions such as computer-aided process planning, group technology coding, NC program generation, and inspection can access to. A part-feature recognition algorithm, the ‘intelligente’ of the system, is discussed in great detail. Finally, an example is evaluated to demonstrate the success of the system. Keywords
