Abstract
The systematic errors inherent in four methods of manual graphical chromatographic peak-area measurement are examined. Skewed peaks are simulated based on the exponentially modified gaussian equation. The errors in the peak-area measurements are calculated as a function of peak asymmetry. The Condal-Bosch trapezoidal method is seen to be largely unaffected by peak skew.
