Abstract
Dynamic properties of some physiological regulatory mechanisms can be examined in a way that is analogous to methods used in technical systems, i. e. in stimulating the efferent or afferent nerves by pulses the frequency of which is sinusoidally modulated. Such a stimulation represents adequate input function by means of which a sinusoidal analysis of autonomic systems can be carried out. Principles of frequency-modulated stimulation and the basic scheme of the stimulator have been presented. General procedure in estimating the frequency-response characteristics of physiological systems have been outlined. The method has facilitated a dynamic analysis of some neuroeffectors of the circulatory system and might probably find other applications in the physiology of autonomic functions. Keywords
