Abstract
Computations of the re-radiation of AM broadcast signals by steel tower power lines are carried out using a simplified method, and compared with computations by moment method. The simplified method is based on transmission line theory and was implemented on a microcomputer in BASIC using 32K of RAM. The computer program (AMPL) includes the effect of the lossy ground. Results show that this simplified method is useful for making an approximate but rapid and inexpensive assessment of the impact of a power line on an AM broadcast antenna's performance. Keywords
