Incidence of primary, secondary and congenital syphilis in Poland has decreased by 98% from 1947 to 1955, whereas the gonorrhea rate has declined by only 39%. In 1947 the rate for primary, secondary and congenital syphilis was over twice that for gonorrhea, whereas in 1955 it was less than 1/14 the rate for gonorrhea.
