BILATERAL CONGENITAL LOBAR EMPHYSEMA SURGICALLY CORRECTED

Abstract
A case of bilateral congenital lobar emphysema, documented by serial roentgenograms, required two separate lobectomies. Most authors believe the etiology to be probably valvular obstruction of the main lobar bronchus. Rarely is medical management sufficient; most patients with this disorder require lobectomy of the affected lobe.
