Abstract
Infection types 3-4 developed on the barley[Hordeum vulgare] cv. ''Hiproly'', inoculated with each of 3 races of P. graminis f. sp. tritici, and infection type 1 developed on cultivars ''Larker'' and ''Manker''. Numbers of uredia per square centimeter of leaf surface were fewer in ''Larker'' and ''Manker'' than in ''Hiproly''. There were no significant differences between resistant and susceptible cultivars in urediospore germination, appressorium formation or penetration. Growth of the pathogen was restricted inside the leaves of resistant barley cultivars, but not in those that were susceptible. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
