Abstract
Although the complications and sequelae of varicella are rare, they can cause significant mortality and morbidity in the normal and compromised patient. Eight cases of pure acute transverse myelitis (ATM) following varicella were previously reported in the literature. The 9th case of postvaricella ATM in a 9 yr old girl was reported. Her course was characterized by paraplegia, sensory loss, hyperesthesia and incontinence of urine and feces. All patients, except the 1 reported, recovered fully from ATM.This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
