Abstract
For the purpose of this paper, the harbor of New York is taken to include the Lower Bay, the Upper Bay, the Hudson River to Mount St. Vincent, the East River to Throgs Neek, the Harlem River, Newark Bay, the Kill van Kull, the Arthur Kill, and Jamaica Bay. Each of these divisions can be considered a distinct branch, although the tidal phenomena, taken as a connected whole, are affected by the characteristics of each. Keywords
