Abstract
The low temperature longitudinal resistance-per-square in ungated quantum wells of high peak hole mobility is metallic for 2D hole density as low as . The electronic contribution to the resistance, , is a nonmonotonic function of , exhibiting thermal activation, , for and a heretofore unnoted decay for . The form of is independent of density, indicating a fundamental relationship between the low- and high- scattering mechanisms in the metallic state.
