Abstract
Preview Sports participation is an important and healthful part of the lives of many young people. Certain organized activities can, however, be a threat to health in some individuals. For this reason, preparticipation evaluation of the sports candidate's health is widely performed, but the optimum type and timing remain topics of some controversy. Dr Blum, director of a university adolescent health program, outlines a plan for such assessment. Keywords
