Abstract
The green fluorescent pigments of various members of the pyocyaneus-fluorescens group of bacteria were isolated. Considerations of properties, and of analytical and spectrophotometric data, point to the identical nature of the pigments. A well-defined band with absorption maximum 410 mu was obtained in alkaline solution; on acidification of the solution, the band became less marked (maximum 370 mu), and was shifted towards the shorter wave lengths. The empirical formula of the coloring matter is C4H7O2N.This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
