Abstract
In expts. on long-continued field plots with maize and potatoes optimum yields were associated with an equilibrium between CaO-MgO-K2O sensibly linear in time. The relationship is shown graphically in trilinear co-ordinates by joining the values for the Ca-Mg-K-unit, derived in a corresponding manner to the NPK-unit (Plant Physiology 12: 577-99, 1937), at the successive dates of sampling morphologically homologous leaves. The departure from the position or form of the optimum graphs of the respective species is reflected in reduced yields. The bearing of the results on studies in human and animal nutrition is indicated. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
