Abstract
With the help of the lattice momentum, phase‐matched optical generation of coherent phonons with frequencies higher than 50 GHz appears feasible. We have considered two cases: (i) direct conversion of millimeter or submillimeter photons in a piezoelectric superlattice, (ii) optical mixing of two laser beams in a nonpiezoelectric superlattice.This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
