Abstract
Peat can be used as a material that can trap metals from an aqueous solution and can easily be desorbed. This useful property of peat makes it a valuable material that can be used to trap metals from industrial waste matter that can cause environmental pollution. It was found that in the presence of Na+ ions the adsorption of metal ions was very low. Desorption studies were also carried out using deionized water and dilute HCl. The latter proved to be more efficient in releasing the metal ions from the metal peat complex so that the peat can thus be used again. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
