Abstract

We have investigated Dominguez's Veneziano-type

π NN

form factor by attempting to use it to fit

\frac{d σ}{dt}

data for

np \to pn

and

\bar{p} p \to \bar{n} n

at 8 and 23.5 GeV/c in the interval

0 < - t < 0.1

Ge

V^{2}

. With

n = \frac{5}{2}

as proposed by Dominguez it is not possible to fit the data. A fit can be obtained for other values of

n
