Some liver oils yielding a strong colour reaction with antimony trichloride

Abstract
As judged by the color production and depending on the method of their extraction, whether with boiling water or with ether, various fish oils differ in their vitamin A content and in the manner of its retention in the tissue. Several substances are concerned in the color reaction with SbCl3. At the beginning of puberty rats require increased amounts of vitamin A.
