Abstract
Four new species in two new genera of Ancyrocephalinae are described: ANCHORADISCOIDES serpenrinus gen. et sp. n. and LYRODISCUS muricatus from the redear sunfish, Lepomis microlophus (Gunther); Lyrodiscus longibasus sp. n. from the black crappie, Pomoxis nigromaculatus (LeSueur); and Lyrodiscus seminolenis sp. n. from the bluegill, Lepomis macrochirus Raf. Anchoradiscoides most closely resembles Anchoradiscus Mizelle, 1941, by possessing anchors with greatly inflated bases but differs in that the haptoral bars are large and broad and articulate at their ends, rather than V-shaped and articulating in the middle; also, the anchor bases do not occupy the entire haptoral area as in Anchoradiscus, Lyrodiscus appears to be most closely related to Cleidodiscus Mueller, 1934. but differs mainly by the elongate anchors having undifferentiated bases, with anchor points projecting from the lateral edges of the haptor giving it the characteristic lyre-shape, and by the vas deferens looping around an intestinal limb. The fish hosts were collected from Alabama and Georgia.
