Abstract
Fifteen 12-carbon saturated and unsaturated alcohols and acetates related chemically to synthesized sex pheromone (cis-7-dodecen-1-ol acetate) of Trichoplusia ni (Hübner) were bioassayed for attractancy to cabbage looper males. Only acetates with unsaturation in 6- and 7-positions showed some activity. Response was reduced when the cis and trans isomers of 7-dodecen-l-ol acetate were bioassayed simultaneously, when other isomers and congeners were tested, and when the pheromone was subjected to heat and to outdoor conditions. Keywords
