Abstract
Modernisation, it has been said, is a double-edged sword: you win some and you lose some. As the world jumps on the bandwagon of modernisation, Majid Tehranian exposes some of the items in this balance sheet which have been forgotten. The curse of modernity, he says, lies in its excessive pursuit of power and self-gratification. But Majid Tehranian also sees hope for a way out of this self-inflicted mess. Keywords
