Abstract
Recent work on the taxonomy and biology of three species of membraniporine ectoprocts of the Chesapeake Bay area has necessitated changes in their nomenclature.Acanthodesia tenuis is now known asMembranipora tenuis, Membranipora membranacea must be considered to be as undescribed species ofMembranipora, andElectra crustulenta has been found to beConopeum tenuissimum. Recognition of these changes is particularly important in the case ofConopeum tenuissimum, a very common fouling species over large areas of Chesapeake Bay.
