Abstract
Occupational mortality from cutaneous malignant melanoma was evaluated for deaths occurring in British Columbia from 1950–1978 by using age standardised proportional mortality ratios (PMR). For males, significantly elevated PMRs for melanoma were seen in managers and owners, accountants, architects, chemical engineers, and gardeners and nursery workers. Female school teachers were also at elevated risk of death from cutaneous melanoma. Keywords
