Abstract
A microscopic analysis using the projection before variation method is applied to study the Kpi =0+ two-quasiparticle bands in 168Er and remarkable agreement with experiment is obtained. It is suggested that the Kpi =0+ excited bands in 168Er are pure two-quasiparticle bands and cannot be identified as collective beta -vibration bands. Keywords
