Abstract
Study of mixing in continuous reactors using chemical reactions. Competition between convection, chemical reaction, and mixing phenomena in continuous reactors leads to different limiting cases of micromixing which can strongly influence conversion and selectivity. After the description of these limiting cases it is shown how micromixing in reacting systems can be studied experimentally by the use of chemical methods. The various chemical reactions used so far in these studies are summarized and the aims of future work are briefly outlined. Keywords
