Abstract
80 wild pigeons trapped on the roof of the Capitol in Washington, D. C, were examined serologically and parasitologically for evidence of Toxoplasma infection. The dye test gave positive results on the serum of 7 of these birds, one of which was also found positive after 8 blind passages following inoculation of its tissues into mice. Three other birds were also found positive by demonstration of the parasite in sub-inoculated mice, 2 in the first passage in the mice and the other in the third passage. Thus the total number of birds giving some evidence of toxoplasmosis was 10, or 12.5%.Keywords
