Abstract
Selective catheterization of the brachiocephalic arteries has many advantages over other methods of visualizing the carotid-vertebral system. It is safe and easy to perform, allows a desirable flexibility in the conduct of the examination, and provides exquisite definition of the vessels studied. It has proved to he useful in demonstrating an enlarged or distended carotid body in a patient with carotidynia or vascular neck pain, a troublesome but benign condition. Keywords
