Abstract
Maev O'Collins (7)has rightly pointed out the dearth of reliable information on adoption in Australia and indeed her paper, “Some Aspects of Research in the Field of Adoption”, establishes a significant landmark in this field. But although in some other countries, including the United States, Canada and Britain, some research material has been published, this has been for the most part uneven in quality, fragmentary and of relatively little value in establishing valid generalisations about adoption principles and practice. Keywords
