Abstract
Paints pigmented with zinc dust are no modern development—in fact, they have been known and used in the protection of iron and steelwork against corrosion for more than a century. During the last 15 years, however, this class of coating has assumed much greater industrial importance as research and development (much of it associated with the names of Evans and Mayne at Cambridge) has led first to an understanding of the mechanism of their protective action and thence to a fresh approach to the problems of formulation. Keywords
