Helping Preservice Teachers

Abstract
Emphasis recently has been placed on the development of computer-related curriculum experiences for preservice teachers. Thompson relates the content and structure of a course of Iowa State University that helps teacher education students to view the computer as a means by which to access, organize, manipulate, and communicate informa tion. A summary of course outcomes and assessment measures indicates stu dent gains in skill objectives and a reduction in student self-assessed com puter anxiety.
