Abstract
Results of live-trapping of field populations were analyzed for sources of error in the estimates of population parameters. Dispersal, sexual difference in movement, size of home range, habitat preference, and hetero-genous reactions to traps based on behavior, activity, interest in traps and competition produced bias in trap catches. The data obtained from small samples are not suitable for analysis of many aspects of population behavior. This publication has 15 references indexed in Scilit:
