Abstract
The present state of analytical chemistry in Switzerland is described. The report is based on quentionaries which have been answered by 37 analytical laboratories in high schools, governement institutes and in industrial laboratories. Education, research in analytical chemistry and also the frequency of use of analytical methods are stated. No address list is given, hence the addresses of the research groups can be found in the publication cited. An address list of the analytical laboratories can be obtained from the author. The report is not quite complete, because the questonnaries were sent to analytical laboratories but not to numerous other laboratories, where regular analytical work is carried out by persons who do not call themselves analysts. Keywords
