Abstract
Two new species of pollen, Cranwellia costata, characterised by coarse sculpturing, and Podosporites erugatus, characterised by smooth sacci, are described from sediment of either Waipipian (middle Pliocene) or Hautawan (early Pleistocene) age in the Karamea-Arapito area, Nelson, South Island, New Zealand. The associated palynoflora indicates full forest, coastal conditions with a cool to mild and moist climate. Triorites waitahuensis Couper, 1954 is synonymous with Beaupreaidites elegansiformis Cookson, 1950. B. elegansiformis Cookson sensu Couper, 1960 is Tricolpites gillii Cookson, 1957.Keywords
