Abstract
Between 1986 and 1988, 528 reptiles originating from three continental were examined for Cryptosporidium spp. Fifteen specimens representing eight genera and 11 species [Agama aculeata, A. planiceps, Chondrodactylus anguilifer, Phelsuma madagascariensis grandis, Nerodia harteri harteri, N. rhombifera rhombifera, Elaphe vulpina vulpina, E. obsoleta lindeimeri, Lampropeltis triangalum arcifera, Crotalus durissus culminatus and Hemidactylus turcicus turcicus] were infected. Statistical evaluation of oocyst structure suggests that multiple species of Cryptosporidium may exist among the reptiles examined. Keywords
