Abstract
Allergic contact dermatitis due to P. scandens Koch and Sello ssp. oxycardium (Schott) Bunting (Philodendron scandens cordatum) is seldom reported. In 4 patients (nursery workers) with dermatitis, allergy to Philodendron spp. was found through patch testing with leaves, stems and ether extracts from 8 Philodendron spp. [including P. tuxtlanum, P. bipinatifidum, Philodendron *U cultivar Red Emerald, Monstera deliciosa and M. friedrichsthalli]. Although this allergy appears to be rare, it ought to be considered in patients with dermatitis on hands, arms and face. Keywords
