Abstract
We study the dynamics of classical particles interacting with attractive Gaussian potentials. This system is thermodynamically not stable and exhibits negative specific heat. The results of the computer simulation of the dynamics are discussed in comparison with various theories. In particular, we find that the condensed phase is a stationary solution of the Vlasov equation, but the Vlasov dynamics cannot describe the collapse. Keywords
