Characteristics of a Strain ofMalleomyces pseudomalleifrom Chronic Melioidosis

Abstract
Malleomyces pseudomallei was isolated from multiple sites from a 40-year-old white man who did military service in the Pacific area. The morphologic, cultural, biochemic, serologic, virulence and histo-pathologic findings are compatible with those recorded in the literature. At present, the patient is on antibiotics and has survived 5 years of the disease.
