Abstract
The fin-line step discontinuity is an essential component in millimeter-wave integrated circuits. The discontinuity problem is formulated using an unknown magnetic current in the transverse junction plane. A numerical solution is obtained by a method termed the Generalized Variational Method, which is an extension of the traditional variational method. Illustrative examples of scattering parameter calculations are given. Keywords
