Abstract
The examination of CSF obtained by lumbar puncture can provide information essential to management of a variety of neurologic conditions. In this article, Drs Gorelick and Biller review the steps involved in performing this procedure, the indications, and potential complications. They have also prepared a table summarizing the characteristics of CSF in various neurologic conditions, which will prove a useful diagnostic aid. Keywords
