Abstract
A fully relativistic analysis of the 3p spectrum of Ca I based on ab initio single and multiconfigurational Dirac-Fock calculations is presented. The calculations are compared with recent high-resolution photoabsorption data obtained with synchrotron radiation, and with earlier non-relativistic analyses based both on semi-empirical multichannel quantum defect theory (MQDT) and on single-configuration Hartree-Fock (HF) calculations. Keywords
