Abstract
In normal and waltzing guinea pigs, the source of the static positive potential in the endolym-phatic space of the cochlea was investigated. In waltzing guinea pigs which had no organ of Corti, approximately normal positive potentials were found when a microelectrode was pushed into the scala media from the perilymphatic space. In the cochlea from which both peri-and endolymph were drained, a large potential field was observed on the surface of the stria vascularis. The space between the reticular lamina and the basilar membrane was found to show a strong negative potential. Keywords
