Abstract
When the condensation of urea with diacetyl is carried out in the presence of an aromatic amine a red color is produced instead of the usual yellow. With diphenylamine derivatives an intense magenta is produced. A method for detn. of blood urea was derived using the reaction with N-phenylanthranilic acid. The estimation can be performed with as little as 0.02 ml. blood with results sufficiently accurate for clinical purposes.
