Abstract
The Wigner-Seitz model for nonpolar fluids is used to calculate the conduction-band energy (relative to vacuum) of excess electrons in liquid argon as a function of number density n. The results are compared with those previously obtained in the framework of Lekner’s theory of the motion of electrons in nonpolar liquids.
