Abstract
Normal and X-radiated monkeys did not differ in discriminative performance on circle-gap problems previously assumed in similar studies to assess visual acuity. In the present case, the performance of both groups declined linearly with a logarithmic decrease[long dash]over a wide range[long dash]in the size of the gaps. This and other considerations suggest that the data can best be accounted for by a stimulus sampling process rather than by some sensory characteristic such as visual acuity. Keywords
