On the orientational order in β-nitrogen

Abstract
It is shown that a model with precessing molecules in β‐N2 gives a rather misleading picture of the density distribution at a molecular site. An alternative approach based on an expansion into symmetry‐adapted surface harmonics is presented.Keywords
