Abstract
We analyze the extent to which the equation of state and other thermodynamic properties of systems of hard nonspherical molecules can be obtained from a density independent hard sphere reference system. We conclude that the median and Barker–Henderson prescriptions effectively reproduce all data now available. We discuss the motivation for these two formulations in detail. Keywords
