Abstract
Cerebellar sclerosis is seen in patients with severe neurological handicaps resulting from a variety of serious brain diseases. Previously reported cases were reviewed and the clinical and neuropathological findings in an additional 41 cases were detailed. The disorder appeared to arise by 2 differing pathogenetic mechanisms. In progressive neurological diseases, cerebellar sclerosis seemed to be an extension of cerebral sclerosis, but in static neurological disorders it appeared to be a consequence of perinatal hypoxia ischemic injury, complicated by seizures. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
