Abstract
Temporal lobe epilepsy in particular is considered a consequence of childhood febrile convulsions. Previous studies have dealt with populations of epileptic children. In a retrospective, follow-up study of 362 children with a primary diagnosis of febrile convulsions, 4% developed epilepsy. When followed into early adulthood 1/2 of those remitted. The incidence of temporal lobe epilepsy among the non-remitters did not differ from that of a random population of epileptics. Keywords
