Oligonycus pratensis, a New Mite on Corn1

Abstract
This mite, almost unknown since it was first collected in 1912, has suddenly appeared in injurious numbers on corn in the Lower Rio Grande Valley, Texas. It is also reported injurious on wheat and sorghums in most states west and south of Kansas. The severest corn infestations appear to follow use of DDT for earworm control.
