Abstract
Measurements of the stage II hardening coefficient, θII, were made over the temperature range 77 to 650 K on single crystals of ordered Cu3Au having four different orientations. The work hardening coefficient has a peak at about 300 K and is an increasing function of N, the ratio of the Schmid factors, [ 01) (010)/[ 01] (111), but does not show any significant dependence upon M, the Schmid factor ratio [011] ( 1)/[ 01] (111). This result is in agreement with the viewpoint that the so-called intermediate cross slip from (111) planes to (010) planes plays an important role in the work hardening process and it also indicates that antiphase boundary tubes probably do not play a large role. Keywords
